The foundation of Rönesans Holding was launched in Saint Petersburg in 1993 with Rönesans Construction. Today Rönesans is the main contractor and investor in more than 20 different countries in construction of shopping centers, offices, hotels, mixed buildings, heavy industrial facilities (cement factories, petro-chemical facilities etc.), infrastructure facilities (airports, marinas etc.) and pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, food and beverage processing plants, car and machine factories, government buildings and power plants, hospitals and schools.

Rönesans Construction which determines the Middle East and North African countries as its target markets in terms of commonwealth of independent states performs its activities in Turkey, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Gabon, Austria, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Sri Lanka, Mozambique, Japan, Belgium, Ghana, Sint Maarten, Caribbean, Netherlands, Libya, Nigeria, Iraq and Qatar.

In 2001, Rönesans started its investment in Saint Petersburg and in 2006 it collected its investments, under one roof named as Rönesans Real Estate Investment Corporation. Rönesans Real Estate, working in harmony with Rönesans Construction, develops commercial real estate projects and makes investments mainly in Turkey and Russia. Rönesans which started its business in Turkey Shopping Center, began in 2004, is already investor and partner of Optimum Outlet, Kozzy, Hilltown, Maltepe Piazza and Maltepe Park in Istanbul; Optimum Outlet in Ankara, Optimum in Izmir and Adana, Piazza Shopping Center in Samsun, Kahramanmaraş and Sanliurfa. The construction of the Karşıyaka Hilltown Shopping Center in Istanbul and Baeachtown Shopping Center in Antalya will continue.

The group, which entered the energy sector in 2007, was founded by Rönesans Energy Production A.Ş. with renewable energy projects. Rönesans Energy Generation Inc. currently has 6 hydroelectric power plants operating at 166 MW power. The license works for the 8.55 MW installed capacity Doğan HES project and Doğanlı-Çukurca HES project with 760 MW installed power capacity at Hakkari Çukurca are under process and aimed to start construction as soon as possible. In addition, a natural gas conversion plant with a total installed power of 600 MW is in the development stage.

In the year 2008, Rönesans Construction, Rönesans Real Estate and Renaissance Energy, came under the roof of Rönesans Holding Incorporation within the context of restructuring. Rönesans Construction, which is among the top 100 among the world's largest contracting companies in the field of construction, according to ENR’s (Engineering News Record) 250 Biggest International Contractors List, published in 2018, is the 36th largest in the world and the 9th largest construction company in Europe.
